What is a professional salesperson?

I believe a professional salesperson is someone who listens to the needs of the customer, and provides a product that fulfills the customers needs, while still making a profit for the selling company. A professional salesperson benefits the customer as well as himself (or his company).
I too am a proponent of the win-win scenario; but the customer should win bigger.
Should the customer be the bigger winner or should they perceive themselves the bigger winner?
Since the customer is spending money for a product which they can buy at a number of stores their "sense" of win is more important than ours. Perception or reality?
Love the Stache! Just found your blog via the West Orange blog. I agree with you wholeheartedly about the win/win scenario and that the customer should win bigger. That is what ultimately keeps them a customer and you their salesperson.
